Meet Hamilton (“Hammy”) 💙🐾

Hamilton is a five-year-old goofy, lovable “meatball” who is looking for a forever family to call his own. At around 65 pounds, this handsome guy may be a big boy, but underneath it all he’s just a sweet shadow dog who wants to be near his people. He has the perfect balance of playful and laid back, loving games of fetch, tug-of-war, beach walks, and belly rubs just as much as he loves curling up for a long nap afterward.

Hammy enjoys getting out and exploring but doesn’t have endless puppy energy. He walks well on a leash once he settles into a pace, listens nicely to corrections, and adapts easily to new situations and routines. During a beach trip, he loved walking along the shore, wanted to chase the waves, and impressed everyone with how well he listened around distractions. He also travels well in the car and quickly settles down for naps during rides.

Hamilton has done wonderfully with older children and enjoys being around people, though busy or loud environments can sometimes overwhelm him. In calmer settings, his affectionate and easygoing personality really shines. He is house trained, crate trained, knows commands, and relaxes well on his own when needed. While he has not officially tested well with cats, he currently coexists respectfully with a small dog in foster care and may do well with slow, proper introductions.

Hamilton is the kind of dog who simply wants to be included in everyday life—whether that means joining you on adventures, hanging out nearby while you relax, or snoozing at your feet after a long day. Sweet, adaptable, and full of personality, Hammy is ready to find a forever home that will love him for the goofy, loyal companion he is. 💙
