Sherry
Pitt Friends is proud to recognize our President, Sherry, as this month’s Volunteer of the Month. With over a decade of dedication to animal rescue, Sherry is the steady force behind so much of what we do.
As President she carries the weight of so many lives on her shoulders—overseeing the organization, stepping in wherever she’s needed, and never hesitating to take on the hardest cases. But her impact goes far beyond a title. She fosters puppies and adult dogs, manages the day-to-day chaos of rescue, and is often the one making sure nothing—and no one—falls through the cracks.
We are incredibly grateful for her leadership, her dedication, and the decade of love she has poured into Pitt Friends and the dogs we serve.

What Others Are Saying
I love working with Sherry because she is practical, tells it like it is, and she doesn’t panic when things get stressful (and they always get stressful in rescue). Don’t get me wrong though; shes just as crazy as the rest of us! She will drop everything to go crawl through a swamp, woods, or an abandoned house to save a dog, and she will move mountains to make a rescue work! That’s my kind of crazy!

Sherry accepted me into Pitt Friends at the hardest part of my life- through cleaning kennels, volunteering, and teaching me she has brought so much joy into my life. She has become my best friend. She is such a strong and fierce advocate for dog rescue. She is calm under pressure and has a big heart even if she pretends not to. I can not imagine my life without her!

Sherry's unwavering dedication to pulling the hardest cases and her uncanny ability to remember every dog, every foster, and every volunteer prove that this rescue may be small — but under her leadership, it is undeniably mighty. Her passion and compassion have given countless dogs a second chance at life, and we are grateful to have her heart leading the way.

You can adopt as many as you want, but ONLY if you keep fostering!
