Meet Gerald — Our Dog of the Month ❤️

Gerald’s story is one of resilience, second chances, and just how much a dog can overcome.

When Gerald arrived at the shelter, he was severely emaciated, weak, and could barely stand. He needed time, medical care, good nutrition, and people willing to fight for him. Slowly, Gerald began to heal. Since then, he’s faced another hurdle—losing an eye—but somehow, none of it has changed the sweet, gentle dog underneath.

Today, Gerald is healthy, happy, and ready for the part of his story we’ve all been waiting for: a home of his own.

At 6 years old, Gerald is well past the puppy chaos. He is fully house trained, crate trained, and exceptionally well behaved. He isn’t jumping all over you, stealing things from the counter, or looking for trouble. Gerald is the kind of dog who simply wants to be near his people.

He loves kids, takes treats like a perfect gentleman, and has perfected the art of enjoying the good life. Give him a soft bed, a sunny spot to stretch out in, and someone to love, and Gerald is content.

Gerald does need to be the only dog in his home, but he promises to bring enough love to fill it all by himself. After everything he has been through, we think he’s earned the chance to finally be someone’s one and only.

Gerald survived the part of his story that could have broken him.

Now he’s just waiting for someone to give him the ending he deserves. ❤️
